Project: Yale.edu Website Redesign

Project Lead, Kickoff Meetings, Creative Brief, Project Goals & Strategy, Information Architecture, Design Prototypes & Review, Content Strategy, Usability Testing & QA

Problem

Yale University does not struggle with name recognition. However they do struggle from being known in the right ways. Prior to our website redesign, the site made the school come off as staid and cold, when really that couldn't be any further than the truth. Yale as a place and experience is joyful, exciting, and experimental. With a vast expanse of a web presences, including over 1,000 separate web entities, the Yale.edu main website and many online limbs were old, stagnant, and no longer a good representation of the vibrancy and life available on campus.

Solutions

Exploration

We worked to create a dynamic new site for Yale's website home base, Yale.edu, internally known as the "Blue Site". Within this web presence we created immersive experiences that helped promote the cabinet of curiosity that Yale truly is. Users are introduced to a myriad of experiences available and encouraged to explore unique departments and offerings via an interactive homepage feature that filters by topic or shuffles at random, exposing every user, from strangers to insiders with a new fresh look at the institution's offerings.
